1. Accepting these terms
By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the site or submit the waitlist form. Mandatory consumer and privacy rights that apply to you are not excluded by these terms.
2. Website purpose
This site describes Koval, an open-core strategy-testing platform. The public engine source can be inspected under its repository licences. The planned hosted application provides a proprietary visual interface and managed workflow on top of that engine.
Current product descriptions are limited to historical backtesting, paper trading with simulated capital, and supported exchange sandbox execution. Koval does not provide a switch, route, or promise for real-money order execution.
3. No financial, investment, legal, or tax advice
Koval provides software descriptions, educational material, and testing tools. Nothing on this website is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold, or trade any asset; a personalised investment recommendation; portfolio management; brokerage; or legal or tax advice.
You are responsible for your own research and decisions. If you need advice, use an appropriately qualified independent professional who understands your circumstances and jurisdiction.
4. Backtests and examples are hypothetical
Historical simulations have inherent limitations. They are built from data and assumptions rather than actual execution. Results can change materially with fees, spread, slippage, liquidity, data quality, timing, partial fills, market regime, and implementation details.
Past or simulated performance does not guarantee future results. Illustrative interface values on the site are samples for explaining the product, not verified customer performance or forecasts. Read the guide to backtest accuracy and limits before interpreting any simulation.
5. Waitlist
Joining the waitlist requests one launch announcement. It does not create a user account, guarantee admission, reserve a service level, establish a launch date, or promise a particular feature or price. Current approved plan structure is a free plan plus monthly and annual subscriptions, with paid prices announced at launch.
You must submit an address you control and provide accurate optional answers. Do not submit another person’s address, confidential strategy information, financial credentials, exchange keys, payment information, or other sensitive data.
6. Open-source engine and proprietary application
The public Koval engine is offered under the licence identified in its repository. The Backtrader adapter has its own GPL-3.0 boundary. Those licences govern the source code they cover and are not replaced by these website terms.
The hosted Koval application, visual builder, accounts, managed runs, website design, brand, and proprietary application code are not made open source merely because the engine is public. No right to self-host the proprietary application is granted.
7. Acceptable use
You may browse and link to public pages for lawful purposes. You must not:
- attack, disrupt, overload, scrape abusively, or bypass security controls;
- use the waitlist for spam, impersonation, fraud, or submission of third-party personal data;
- misrepresent Koval content, examples, or open-source boundaries;
- remove ownership notices or use Koval branding in a way that implies endorsement;
- attempt to use this marketing site to transmit exchange credentials or execute trades.
Ordinary search-engine indexing, accessibility tools, security research conducted lawfully and responsibly, and reasonable use of the public site are not prohibited.
8. Intellectual property
Except for separately licensed open-source material and third-party marks, the website content, visual design, brand assets, and proprietary application descriptions belong to Koval or its licensors. You may quote and link to reasonable portions for commentary or evaluation as allowed by law, but may not reproduce the site wholesale or imply ownership.
9. Third-party services and links
The site links to GitLab, Google services, and other external resources. Third parties control their own content, availability, security, and terms. A link does not mean Koval endorses every statement, product, or service on the destination.
10. Availability and changes
The marketing site and pre-launch descriptions are provided on an “as available” basis. Koval may correct errors, update guides, change the roadmap, or suspend the site. No launch date, continuous availability, or compatibility with every browser, data source, or exchange is promised.
11. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Koval disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. This does not exclude warranties or remedies that cannot legally be excluded.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Koval is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from use of this public site, reliance on educational material, third-party links, or inability to access the site. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited, including liability for fraud or deliberate misconduct where applicable.
13. Governing rules and disputes
These terms operate subject to the mandatory laws and courts that apply to the website operator and to any non-waivable rights available in your country. Before filing a claim, contact Koval so the issue can be reviewed and, where possible, resolved informally.
14. Changes and contact
Koval may update these terms as the website or hosted application changes. The date at the top identifies the current version. Material changes apply prospectively. Questions about these terms or the privacy practices described in the Privacy Notice can be sent toprivacy@koval.finance.
